Yes, I drink ginger juice every day.
Six years ago, at the age of 57, I had a heart attack with blockage in over 90% of my right ventricle.
The doctors put me on medication that they said I would take for the rest of my life.
I decided, instead to get healthy. I was 181 pounds and did some physical activity, but not regularly.
My first change and goal in getting healthier was to eat better. That started with low sodium and lower carb.
A year later my weight started to climb and blood pressure was elevated. I knew I had to do more. I looked for substitutes for things I liked to eat. I love ginger chews and ginger ale, the hotter the better. My wife discovered your ginger juice and I would add it to sparkling water with a sweetener.
Several years later, I had slowly lost weight back to my college days. I was getting healthier and decided to continue. I made my morning breakfast with ginger juice/super food juice, and water a solid routine with my oatmeal/chia seed/beet powder mixture.
At 60, I also added daily exercise and started running consistently. Although I didn’t see immediate improvement in the first three months, after six months I was running faster than I had ever in my life. I started eliminating medications (with doctor’s approval) and got professional coaching. I continued to lose weight down to 140-145, where I am now. My BP this morning was 100/60. I am training for my second marathon this year in mid-December.
My long-term goals are to continue training and running to improve my marathon time without injuries to under a 4-hour time by the time I am 65. This would be a qualifying time for the Boston Marathon.
